Ferry Ride to Vinalhaven • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75
I was so inspired on our trip to Vinalhaven--from
leaving the dock, to riding by 2 lighthouses, to
looking back at Camden Hills, and seeing the
countless islands littering the coast--it was a
stunning hour and 20 minute ride. We got out
close to Vinalhaven & I couldn’t believe how
many other little islands there were around.
Everywhere I looked I saw views that simply
captured the essence of the Maine Coast. Here is
one of them.

BEACH DAYS! • 5x5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
What a stretch of HOT weather!
We couldn’t ask for better
beach days! I have been to the beach for the
past 3 days to cool off & it has been
heavenly. The water is refreshing, the sound
of the crashing surf is peaceful & the
people watching is fun. And I can’t forget
the colorful beach umbrellas that line the
shores--I love them!
Cheers to more Summer beach days!
PS Sorry for not posting a painting yesterday--it
was just too darn hot to lift a paint brush!

4th of July Dusk from the Eastern Prom • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75
The 4th of July in Portland is magical! Last
night we sat in our beach chairs on the Eastern
Prom & listened to the Portland Symphony play
before us while we people watched, admired the
breathtaking view of Casco Bay & waited for
the fireworks show. The conductor said this must
be one of the best 4th of July celebration’s in
our country & I have to agree. I can’t
imagine anything more perfect. The beautiful
weather didn’t hurt either!
The symphony played throughout
the fireworks, and what a sweet touch that
was! This was my view of Casco Bay as the
sun went down.

Evening Dingy • 5x5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
Here is a painting I did over the weekend &
never got a chance to post. It’s an adorable
little dingy that we paddled by on the way out
for our Peaks Island boat ride. I love these
little boats! They are so CUTE!
Sorry to be so out of touch this week! I have had
a lot going on & have had to let a few things
go. My sweet sister-in-law has been in the
hospital & we have been taking care of our 3
year old niece. Please keep her in your thoughts
as she fights off a serious infection. xoxo

I love it when the sailboats start showing up in
Casco Bay--it’s a true sign of SUMMER!
YEAH! I was riding my bike
along the path the other morning &
stopped to admire this pretty view of the
boats & Mackworth Island & beyond.
So tranquil!

Last Night's Moonrise Over Casco Bay • 5x5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
Last night we were driving back from my brother’s
house & we caught the moon rising over Casco
Bay & it was exquisite!!!!!! The moon was so
low & so big that it almost looked fake.
Stunning. I screamed when I saw it & scared
my partner half to death!
Cheers!

Little White Buillding on the Shore • 5x5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
I was over at the Lobster Shack at Two Lights
last week painting & I was so struck by this
little white building perched near the rocky
ledges. There is a fenced in fog horn building
next to it--not sure what purpose this building
serves, but it’s so cool against the ocean
backdrop. I painted this scene this morning &
forgot to post it until now. I’ll get a brighter/
better picture of it in the morning ... it’s just
too dark to get a good one right now.

Morning View from the Prom • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75
Here’s another pretty morning scene from the
Eastern Prom. I never ever get tired of looking
out into Casco Bay. There is something so
peaceful about being near water. I think my dogs
appreciate their morning walks on the Prom too
... so much to see & so much to sniff. What a
way to start the day!
* This painting is a little brighter in
person. My camera doesn't like taking pics
of this color combo. ![]()

Kettle Cove Morning • 5x5 • oil on canvas • 5x5 • SOLD
I was over at Two Lights yesterday & couldn’t
resist stopping at Kettle Cove to take in the
view. Every time I pull in to Kettle Cove, it
takes my breath away--I just LOVE this view.
There is just something about it that really
speaks to me--it’s magic! So here we have a
painting of the gorgeous morning I got to take in
yesterday. Ahhhhhhhh.

Fort Gorges Morning, April • 5x5 • oil on canvas • $75

I sat on a bench at Spring Point Lighthouse
yesterday & painted in the morning sun. The
bay was so still & peaceful & Fort Gorges
was stunning with the sunlight hitting it. I love
our Portland landmarks. Fort Gorges & the
Portland Observatory take the cake for me ...
they are my favorites to paint. What I love most
is how the light hits the sides of each
structure. Fort Gorges is hexagonal & the
Observatory is octagonal, so it really is cool
how the light plays off of the
sides.
