Happy 2021 to you! I’ve been thinking about you & have been meaning to post for some time now, but for various reasons I just could not make it happen. Hopefully I am back at it now.
Here’s a bright little piece that makes my heart happy! Field of Joy is done from a visit to Lane’s Island Preserve on Vinalhaven. This place is simply breathtaking and awe-inspiring, and I thought it’d be a good way to kick off the first post of a new year … so here you have it! 🙂
I had a very busy commission season in December (THANK YOU for your orders)! I think I did close to 40 holiday paintings this year … phew … most to them pet portraits, but not all. Some of the commissions I got a jump on early in the season and many I did in December (thanks to all of the procrastinators out there, like myself). I always enjoy the long December days in the studio, playing the role of Santa’s helper. 🙂 Here are a few of the holiday pieces I got to paint.
As we entered a new year, I needed some time to regroup from all of the holiday painting and just the weight of last year. Geez, it was a heavy year. And despite the new date and the hope that a new leader brings, 2021 hasn’t been easy either, but I have so much to be grateful for and I find beauty and joy in my surroundings–I hope the same holds true for you. I know so many people are hurting right now and I just want to send out much love, light, peace and virtual hugs! Oh, how I miss hugs! Be well. xoxo
