Sunrise Triptych

Summer Sunrise Triptych • 72×36 • oil on canvas • SOLD

I had the pleasure of doing a commission for some neighbors recently and it was so much fun! They have beautiful elevated views of the neighborhood, with glimpses of Casco Bay, and they wanted to bring a Summer sunrise right into their living space.  After some thought, they decided on 3 panels, each measuring 24×36.  What a treat for me to get to paint a sunrise on such a large scale.  You know how I love my morning dog walks that include specatualr sunrises and skies, right?  Escaping into this scene was pure magic.  I have included a picture of the triptych above as well as a picture of how it looks in its new home below!

Sunrise on the Prom

Sunrise on the Prom • 6×6 • oil on canvas • SOLD

One of the things I love about Fall & Winter is getting to witness the most majestic sunrises over Fort Gorges and Casco Bay.  It’s such a magnificent way to start the day with my little dog, Zoe.  Here’s recent one that took my breath away. <3

** I had a fabulous weekend at the Art on the Hill SEA Sale.  Thank you all for coming out & for your support.  I really appreciate YOU! xoxo  **

Puffy Clouds at Kettle Cove & Summer Sunrise on the Prom

12×36 • oil on canvas • $550 each (2 for $995)

Hi Friends!  I’m back.  :-). It has been awhile, hasn’t it?  Travel, family & playing catch up is where I have been.  I spent 10 days in Portugal & 10 days in Spain in September … all of which was completely magical.  My time in Portugal was spent pedaling with friends on a bike tour north & south of Lisbon.  And then my partner joined me for 10 days in Southern Spain where we explored Malaga & Granada (where I lived with my family for a year when I was 11).  We hadn’t been back to Europe in 25 yeas and I loved every second of it!  I’m sure you will see some paintings at some point soon.  And then upon my return my dad & his girlfriend visited for 5 days which was so much fun.   And now I’m back in the studio & getting caught up.  Ahhhh!  My heart is full. xoxo

In any case, these 2 paintings have been drying on my easel since August & I am finally getting around to posting them.  :-).  I have so many favorite coastal views and here are two that never disappoint.  Pedaling down down to Kettle Cove fills my heart and soul each and every time.  And seeing the sunrise on Eastern Prom while on my morning dog walks always gives me that “pinch me – am I dreaming?” feeling.  So happy to have the Maine coast as my backyard & playground.

Marsh Sunrise

Marsh Sunrise • 6×6 • oil on canvas • $95

I got to witness some beautiful South Carolina sunrises this month.  As I walked out the path to the beach one morning the silhouette of marsh grass was mesmerizing in the day break light.  Waking up with a walk into the sunrise with my lil sidekick, Zoe (a Boston Terrier), is one of the best ways to start the day.  Such a gift!

Pets & Sunsets: THANK YOU

I had so much fun painting your precious pets & sunsets–thank you for playing along with me!  I am grateful for you.  :-). Here are the 18 paintings I completed for the Pets & Sunsets contest.  I didn’t get to paint everyone’s pet or sunset photo, but I am happy to paint yours if you’d like.  I still have 6 12×12 canvases left & would be happy to extend the $200 offer to the first 6 who want to grab it.  Just click here to do so.  And if you miss out or prefer another size, use this coupon code PETSANDSUNSETS15 to place an order under pet portraits (even if it’s a sunrise) by 4/30 in whatever size you’d like.  The catch is, I must have received your pic by the March 12th deadline.

Thanks again & happy SPRING!  xoxoxo

Oakie & Good Morning, Sunshine

12×12 • oil on canvas • SOLD

I’m still plugging away at the Pets & Sunsets paintings!  I wanted to finish them all before I headed down to South Carolina for the month of April, but that didn’t happen, so in between vacation fun, household projects & walks on the beach I have been painting.  Here is #8 in the series.  Meet lil Oakie–what a cutie & I think he’s ready for a walk or a treat … or both!  And here’s a South Carolina sunrise over the ocean waves–such a magical start to the day. This painting was really fun for me as it has lots of abstract qualities that mimic the feeling you get when looking right into the sunshine.  The sunrise painting is open to all for purchase.

Cooper Doodle – SOLD  & Carvers Harbor Sunrise

12×12 • oil on canvas • $200

(sunrise painting available for purchase)

Cooper Doodle … I just love this little face.  How can you resist those hopeful eyes?  I know, you can’t. :-).  And Carvers Harbor on Vinalhaven is magic at any time of day with the hustle & bustle of all of the boats … but there is something extra special about sunrise.  This sunrise painting is up for grabs as it is one of my own sunrise shots.  :-). I have painted this scene before on a small scale, so it was fun for me to get to paint on the 12×12 scale.

Windowsill & Sky Glow

12x12s • oil on canvas • SOLD

I love this sweet scene of the kitty in the window & the plants nearby.  Kitties always try to squeeze in-between things.  It looks as though this one managed not to knock anything down.  :-).  And this sky … what a magnificent glow!  Thanks for sharing your fantastic images.  🙂

Day Break at the Head Light & Happy Boston

12x12s • oil on canvas • SOLD

This day break … stunning, huh?  I just love the silhouette of the Head Light & the hope that day break brings.  So peaceful.  And I couldn’t resist painting this Boston Terrier as it reminded me of our ball obsessed Zoe. When there is a ball around, playing with it is the ONLY thing on her mind.  :-).
