Hello, Winter / Snowy Morning on the Hill • 6×6 • oil on canvas • $95
Hello! :-). We woke up to winter today. Wow. Snow sure is beautiful. I love seeing my neighborhood under a fresh white blanket even if I wasn’t quite mentally prepared for it.

Spring on the Hill • 6×6 • oil on canvas • $95
I cannot resist this view looking down O’Brion St. It’s just beautiful to see the trees come to life & have Spring Point perched out there in the bay. The streets of Munjoy Hill offer so many incredible little glimpses of the ocean & I adore that!
Merlin Kitty & Los Angeles Sunset

Merlin!! Isn’t he adorable–so expressive. :-). And then the LA sunset … how cool to be able to paint a scene so outside my day to day scope. Thanks for sharing your images.!

Snowy Branches on the Hill • 6×6 • oil on canvas • $95
I took a gorgeous walk around the neighborhood earlier this morning. So pretty. So cold too with the blowing wind. Here’s a painting looking from North Street towards the Hilltop Superette & the Observatory … I was just trying to capture the mood of the falling snow & heavy branches. Shoveling is not at the top of my favorite things list, but walking around after a fresh snow is!

Morning Snow on the Hill • 6×6 • oil on canvas • $95
Surprise! Yesterday we woke up to the most gorgeous snowfall. The fluffy snow blanketed the neighborhood and collected on all of the branches and tree limbs. I had heard we might get an inch or two, but to wake up to a light snow coming down and 6-7 inches already on the ground made me soooooo happy! The peacefulness and beauty of it all was just what I needed. Thank you, Mother Nature. 🙂
After the Snow, Munjoy St. • 5×5 • oil on canvas • $75
The fresh snow is so beautiful … even with 1/4 inch of ice on top. :-). I was sitting in my studio looking out the window & decided I would paint my view. My art desk sits against the window, looking out onto Congress & down Munjoy Street … such a charming winter scene, isn’t it?
Observatory by Night • 5×5 • oil on canvas • $75
My favorite neighborhood landmark, the Portland Observatory. It looks much like a lighthouse tower but was actually used to communicate the arrival of different ships via flags to the merchants along the waterfront. It’s magical at any time of day, but I especially like it at night.

The Morning After the Storm • 6×6 • oil on canvas • SOLD
The blizzard hit hard yesterday! The snow came down 2-3 inches an hour for awhile … it was insane … but thankfully we woke up to pure sunshine today. I wasn’t able to go for an early morning walk with the pups because it meant climbing a 6 foot mountain of snow just to get to the street & they weren’t up for that. Instead I shoveled a path to the street, came in had breakfast & then we all headed out for a walk around the neighborhood. I love strolling the hood after a storm … it’s fun to walk in the snow covered streets & take in the brightness of it all. Here’s a view looking down O’Brion Street to Spring Point. Love this view!
