It’s the end of the day and the sun has set over the marsh. The stillness is so peaceful. The colors in the sky are breathtaking. I pause take in the quickly changing horizon and reflect on another day gone by and the tomorrow to come. Sunsets are good for that–they give quiet pause for thought. May you enjoy a sunset, and may we all work towards a better tomorrow by doing what we can for our communities today. Be well, friends. xoxo

I love painting beach sunrises – – the landscape is so simple and the light and reflections with the water, sky and sand are so cool. Beach sunrises really are just an abstract sea of colors. I hope this brings you as much peace as the act of walking on the beach in the early morning. Be well. Xoxo
Walking on the beach with my feet is the sand feels so good! One of my favorite things to do while beach walking is to stop watch and take in the power of the surf–so mesmerizing and awe inspiring. I tried to capture some of the magnificent movement of the water on a windy day in this painting. I hope you can feel it! And I hope you are well. xoxo
Our fruit bowl is so colorful right now, it just called to be painted! Since starting this painting we have cut into the watermelon, eaten the remaining clementines, squeezed a lime on our salad and munched down an apple. Yummmm! The more color in each day, the happier the day. :-). Wishing you some color in your day and lots of sunshine too. Be well, friends! 🙂
I love fruit and I love still life paintings, so I am revisiting an older 6×6 fruit painting that makes me happy. I hope it makes you happy too! Fruit is so colorful, vibrant and sweet–who needs candy when you can have fresh fruit. Actually, I take that back, I do need chocolate. 🙂 What is your favorite fruit? I honestly love ALL fruit … especially whatever is in season. 🙂 Today I have had strawberries and a banana, and boy, did they hit the spot.
As I walked down Congress Street on Saturday, the sun and pink of the reaching branches in the Eastern Cemetery filled my field of vision and heart with such joy. The cherry blossom trees are in bloom and they are beautiful. I knew I would have to paint them. So here you have a springtime painting of sun, pink, hope and love.
My daily neighborhood walks have become a favorite pastime–my one constant in our ever-changing world. I hope you are able to get outside for some walks each day too. They definitely help me feel sane. Be well, friends. xoxo Hugs!
Happy Earth Day! Here’s one of my favorite green and blue views for you–Starboard Rock, Vinalhaven. Enjoy the color, the peace and the love. I’m wrapping my arms around Mother Earth and all of you today. xoxo
I do love chasing rainbows–the dramatic skies, the light, the colors–I love it all. Rainbows are magical to see over Casco Bay, so whenever I see rain and sun I head for the Eastern Prom to look for a colorful arc in the sky and a pot of gold. I have yet to find a pot of gold, but really, the rainbow over the water is reward enough. Be well. xoxox
There is something so comforting about seeing my favorite landmarks holding strong during these uncertain times. A recent visit to Willard Beach let me pause and admire Fort Gorges, Spring Point, the Shacks, and the Portland Head Light. It is so grounding, in a world which is changing so much each day, to find some beautiful constants. Be well, friends. xox
Even the lobster boats and dories seemed to get tucked in for the night after a warm summer’s day. The water is still, the sky is aglow and the hustle of the harbor has stopped–such a beautiful and tranquil time of day. This painting is a scene from Vinalhaven. May it bring you peace. Be well, friends. xoxo
