April 1 I started this painting yesterday in my studio with my niece. She finished her painting well before I did, so I had to abandon my painting until today. Yesterday was still dreary & I was inspired thinking back on our Autumn getaway to Borestone Mountain. I used one of my smaller daily paintings as a study & went to town. I love this place! Here’s to beautiful places & thoughts of warm days to come! 11x14 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas

April 2 Tonight was the unveiling of Sean & Gretchen’s Love Camp wedding painting at First Friday in my studio & it was so fun! It was great to have so many people gather in the studio to celebrate LOVE & Spring & to just enjoy one another. Thank you all for coming out! CHEERS to Sean & Gretchen & their life together & cheers to a good weekend! 28x22 • oil on canvas • SOLD

April 3 I was over in South Portland running an errand this morning & I couldn’t resist stopping at WIllard Beach to check out the Fishing Shacks in the fog. I was NOT disappointed! It was low tide & the shacks looked as timeless & as mystical as ever. Enjoy the beautiful day! :-) 10x10 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas

April 6 A friend brought over this gorgeous bouquet of giant mums ... they are a stunning yellow lime color. I put the vase in the studio against the lime green walls & I was taken by all of the variations of yellow & green. The mums are so pretty! 5x5 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas

April 7 What a way to start the day ... sitting on a bench at Spring Point, looking aout at my favorite lighthouse & painting. Everything about this morning was perfect: the smell of the ocean, the squawking sea gulls, the still water & the light hitting the lighthouse. The day started out crisp & hazy & quickly turned to hot & summery, with temps hitting near 90!!!!!!! It was absurd, but fantastic! 5x5 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas

April 8 I sat on a bench at Spring Point Lighthouse yesterday & painted in the morning sun. The bay was so still & peaceful & Fort Gorges was stunning with the sunlight hitting it. I love our Portland landmarks. Fort Gorges & the Portland Observatory take the cake for me ... they are my favorites to paint. What I love most is how the light hits the sides of each structure. Fort Gorges is hexagonal & the Observatory is octagonal, so it really is cool how the light plays off of the sides. 5x5 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas

April 9 It was almost a year ago that we, Maxi & Calvin, starred in the $4 Million Dream video & won a year’s worth of dog food from Fetch & we just want to say “THANK YOU, FETCH--WE WOOF YOU!” We tried a different brand of dog food every month for 1 year and we loved everything! We understand the importance of food rotation & we really appreciate the variety we have been given. Our family is hooked on you & we couldn’t be happier & more grateful than we are today! I know the joy may not show through in our portrait, but it is there ... we just don’t like sitting for pictures or paintings. :-) WOOF! Scroll down to watch our video. 5x5 • oil on gallery wrapped canvas • SOLD
