Thankful

I meant to write a Thanksgiving post yesterday, but I never got around to it and instead just enjoyed a low key day that included a quiet walk with friends, a tasty vegan meal at home (complete with pumpkin pie & ice cream), snuggles with critters and some tv watching. I hope you had a nice, safe and delicious day as well. xox

I took some time out to reflect on the many gifts in my life, despite the difficult year we have all faced. There is so much to be grateful for today and every day. The little things really matter and I like taking a lesson in gratitude from our pets … they show up every day and give us their best. They live in the moment and appreciate everything. They are such great role models. I am thankful for them and for you! Here’s a painting of a cutie retriever smiling over his shoulder, and this piece is up for grabs. 🙂

As a member of the Society for East End Arts, I am participating in their virtual “Art on the Hill” sale this year and am offering 10% off paintings in my shop through December 6th (this excludes pet portraits & commission work). Island Cheer

I needed a little boost today & this scene looking down into Carvers Harbor fit the bill. Happy islands, lobster boats, houses, trees & pops of color are just what I needed. I hope you like them too!

November Afternoon

November Afternoon • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD

I took the long way home from the chiropractor’s office yesterday afternoon to enjoy the Eastern Prom and the view of the Casco Bay Islands. The weather was phenomenal and the afternoon light with the lingering autumn glow, exquisite. November afternoon’s like this feel so luxurious, and we have another one today. Such a treat!

I’m still in a post election haze–I had no idea how much of weight I had been carrying and now I am feeling a slow release of pressure. Walks on the Eastern Prom on gorgeous, warm fall days certainly make everything brighter. Hope you get a nice walk in too!

Big Brush Coast

Big Brush Coast • 5×5 • oil on canvas • $75 • purchase link

Today I just needed a happy little exercise, so I decided to use a big, fat paint brush and lots of paint to do a little Maine Coast landscape. It was fun and freeing to just let go while painting the beauty of Lane’s Island Preserve.

I hope you are well and that you are taking care of yourself! Sending love your way! 🙂
