The Marsh

The Marsh • 5×5 • oil on canvas • $75

This is the stunning marsh view from the Treehouse on Fripp!  It’s so fun to watch the light change out here & to see the wildlife come and go too. We saw hermit crabs, bald eagles, a raccoon and lots and lots of deer from this spot.

*And yesterday it was sooooo gloomy here that I couldn’t get a good picture of my day break painting.  To see a more accurate representation of that painting, click here.

Dawn Over the Marsh

Dawn Over the Marsh • 5×5 • oil on canvas • $75

I just back from a magical family vacation on Fripp Island, South Carolina.  I managed to stay off social media & away from my paints too & just enjoyed my people, the beauty of the beach, the magic of the marsh & the stunning wildlife of the island.  We saw deer, raccoon, bald eagles, osprey, dolphins, pelicans, hermit crabs, turtles & alligators  … Such a treat!  Here’s a view from the Treehouse looking out into the marsh at day break.  Just stunning!  The landscape there is truly other worldly & I love it.

I’m back on my bicycle training for the Trek Across Maine in June & it feels so good.  :-). Being on a bike is such a great way  to get outdoors & nothing compares to that air in your face & the sense of freedom.  Here’s a painting from a scene from last year’s Trek … we spend lots of time riding along gorgeous rivers.  Magic.

Today mother nature gets the last laugh. April 1st and we’ve got a gorgeous snowstorm happening. Snow is always so beautiful and tranquil & it’s just hard for me to be annoyed by it. Here’s a scene from my morning walk around the neighborhood.
