Head Light • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
I love this vantage of the Portland Head Light. I often pull up here on my bicycle. The Head Light is such a Maine icon and there are so many angles to explore this landmark from that it just never gets old. Let’s all be like the Head Light: stand tall & shine your light.
The Fonz • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD

Carver’s Harbor Sunrise • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
I was staring longingly at a picture of this sunrise that I took while visiting Vinalhaven in October & decided to paint it. The sleet & ice are falling here & a little sunshine, even in the form of a painting, never hurts!
Feeling Fruity • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
It’s gray out & they are calling for a storm, so I thought I’d turn to my fruit bowl for some inspiration today. Fruit is so bright & happy, not to mention delicious. 🙂 Cheers to some tropical smoothies!
Morning Snow on Monument • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
Walking the dogs around the neighborhood in a fresh snow is one of my favorite things. It’s just so quiet & peaceful out. I was out early the other day & couldn’t resist this scene from Monument street. So pretty!
Maine Coast Magic • 6×6 • oil on canvas • SOLD
This painting pretty much sums up the magic of the Maine Coast … the islands, the rocky ledges, the pine trees, the ocean … can’t you smell it? I had intended to do a snowscape today, as we had a gorgeous snowfall yesterday, but the morning got away from me. Sometimes that happens–Maybe tomorrow! 🙂
Crescent Moon Over the Cemetery • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
The Eastern Cemetery on Portland’s East End is a special place. It’s filled with history, beautiful stones, trees & views. Here’s a painting of the cemetery under a crescent moon. And the cool thing is that this painting is pictured in the February issue of Harper’s Magazine on the New Books page. 🙂 Such an honor!
Peaceful Snowfall • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD
I was just looking for a peaceful scene to paint & although it is sunny & bright out today, the tranquility of a soft snowfall in Deering Oaks Park called to me.
“Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
