The Water

The Water • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD

I love listening the the crash of the surf & feeling the ocean breeze on my face–it’s sooooo relaxing & just happy.  This is one of the paintings I intended to do while sitting on a rock at Fort Williams, but since my paint brushes turned up missing I had to settle for memory & a snapshot & complete it in my studio.  Some days just go like that.

Cliff Walk at the Head Light

Cliff Walk at the Head Light • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD

I headed over to Fort Williams today to do some plain air painting with my pups in tow.  I found a gorgeous spot along the cliff walk & unloaded all of my goodies, put on my painting smock & then realized that my paintbrushes had fallen out of my bag. NO!  🙁  The pups & I retraced my steps but saw no sign of my 3 favorite brushes, so we just enjoyed the sound of the crashing surf & the gorgeous views & I did some studio painting when I got home.

Mackworth Island II

Mackworth Island II • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD

Here’s another painting from my little excursion to Mackworth Island,  Such a treasure of a place only steps from home.  I sat on the little pier with the sun beating against my back to paint this one.  Heavenly!

Pedal by the Marsh

I went for a gorgeous bike ride yesterday throughout Portland, South Portland, Scarborough & Cape Elizabeth … I saw so many gorgeous things, and had to stop to admire this view in particular.  The marsh is just so beautiful!

Afternoon on Mackworth I

Afternoon on Mackworth I • 5×5 • oil on canvas • SOLD

I got out for a little plein air painting today on Mackworth Island & it was amazing!  The trails & shorelines are so shady & cool on a warm day & the views are so pretty.  I always love a walk around this sweet island.  I even took off my sneaks & enjoyed a foot soak in the refreshing salt water.  Heavenly!
